It all started with a girl and her goat
THE GOAT ADDICTION
Hello! My name is Amanda, and I am the owner of Hapi Capi Soaps, with the help of my mom. I started my Nubian goat herd in 2009 with my first goat, Bella. Bella was a 4-H show goat for 5 years, and she is a sassy and spoiled goat who loves her life at an avocado ranch in Morro Bay, CA. Goats soon became my little addiction, and I started to notice my herd growing quickly. Since 2009, Bella has had 10 babies, and one of them has become a milker for Hapi Capi. Her name is June, and she was also a 4-H show goat for 3 years. I started Hapi Capi Soaps in 2010 after I realized that I didn't have enough money to support my growing goat herd.
THE BEGINNING OF HAPI CAPI
It was suggested to me by my 4-H goat leader to try making soap with my extra goat milk from Bella. I borrowed a soap making book from her, and tried a recipe with my mom. We loved the product, and decided to give them out to family members and friends as holiday presents. Everyone loved the soap! Some of our friends even noticed a difference in their skin after using it. People started asking for more. I saw the opportunity to pay for my goats and provide quality soaps to customers. We started small, with two soap types, and started adjusting our recipe from the one in the book to make our own unique products.
TWO GOATS AND A DREAM
The good reviews started pouring in, and my business grew. Hapi Capi became a real company, a real way to pay for my goats, and a real dream. I have grown to love every part of this business, from manufacturing soap to selling at craft shows. The milk in our soaps and other products come from our very own award-winning Nubian dairy goats, so we can be sure that their milk is quality because we know what each of them eats and drinks.
